ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marcin Janusz (b. 1991) is a Kraków-based artist whose practice spans painting, objects, and glass, exploring nature, biology, and the human body. Trained in both medical science and fine art, he has developed a visual language in which scientific inquiry meets folklore, fantasy, and ecological imagination. Unconventional materials such as soil, sugar, resin, and glass function in his work not simply as media, but as symbols of cyclical life and death, desire and vulnerability, transformation and decay. In recent works, bodies, plants, soil, and landscape merge into dreamlike scenes shaped by Slavic mythology and the memory of matter. With relief-like surfaces and a sensuous material presence, Janusz’s works poetically reveal human fragility and the deep, complex symbiosis between the body and the natural world. He has presented solo exhibitions at Lazy Mike, Seoul; LETO, Warsaw; FIERMAN Gallery, New York; Szara Kamienica Gallery, Kraków; and Królikarnia during the Ephemera Festival, Warsaw, and has participated in exhibitions at MOCAK, the National Museum in Gdańsk, Zachęta – National Gallery of Art, Manggha, and Lazy Mike Gallery, Seoul.
