Lazy Mike participated in Art Brussels with a duo presentation by Taisiia Cherkasova and Filip Mirazovic.

Taisia Cherkasova’s (b. 1991, Ukraine) territory is undeniably that of the night. She prowls there, taking on non-human forms and brushing her muzzle against the creatures that populate it. She wasn’t born there, but in a quest of rewilding herself and the world, she keeps exploring it, making it the place of her truth and of multiple possibilities.

Filip Mirazovic (b.1977, Serbia), guided by an exceptional eye for noticing and recreating the most unapparent particularities or effects happening on surfaces from our surroundings and freeing himself from the urge to recreate reality, Mirazović became an alchemist who is now constructing a new, post-human one. This is where bodies built from leather upholstery eventually morphed into Rubens-like figures.

The same concepts sparked the idea of employing biomorphism before fully transforming the visuals into metaphors for the excessive commodification of life or the prioritization of material wealth.
