DREAMCAST

25 December, 2021 - 28 January, 2022

Dreamcast - is a group show, that brings together  11  independent young artist: Alexandr Krylov, Anastasia Trapeznikova, Vasilisa Vakhrusheva, Vladislava Tarasova, Georgiy Khomich, Gleb Baranov, Evgeniy Sakhatsky, Nadezhda Likhogrud, Nika Chernyaeva, Suigir Buluktaev, Yakov Khomich.

“Dreamcast” is a journey through reality built on the author's research into the relationship between humans and their environment. The project involved 11 artists, each working with a sensual spectrum.

Yakov and Georgiy Khomich shape a wonderful world created on the memories of travels and adventures. The artists' works blend naive childhood sensations with teenage feelings and experiences from “adult life”. Gleb Baranov works with travels  theme. After he saw colored shimmers of stalactite domes, tiles, ceramic and glass mosaics, stained glass and colored marble in the Middle East during his sea travels, it was impossible for him to go back to dark shades.

Following the fantasy route, we get to the endless Kalmyk steppes. It is here that the young artist Suigir Buluktaev placed his magic horses, that do not know lies, envy, dishonesty and resentment.

The next stop is a limitless field of reflections called “Man in the World and the World in Man”. Vasilisa Vakhrusheva, Vladislava Tarasova, Alexander Krylov and Evgeny Sakhatsky are represented here by works where feelings and knowledge acquire clearly defined artistic forms.

The land of memories is the territory of Nadezhda Likhogrud. The images created by the artist are easily recognizable, but slightly blurred, like a moment fixed in memory or a snapshot from childhood. Concluding our journey, Nika Chernyaeva observes how modern mythology is created, and fictional worlds intertwine with the reality in which we exist.
