ABOUT THE ARTIST
Willie Stewart (b. 1982) is an American artist based in New Haven, Connecticut. He received his BFA from The Cooper Union and an MFA in Sculpture from Yale University. Combining painting, drawing, and sculpture, Stewart’s practice examines themes of time, memory, absence, and melancholy within American visual culture. His works often capture fleeting, nostalgic moments, giving shape to longing and reminiscence.
