ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marcin Janusz is a Polish artist whose work explores nature, biology, and the human body. His work deals with the interplay between humans and the environment, and he uses non-traditional materials such as resin, clay, and sugar to build complex textures. This creative process takes an experimental approach to form and material, revealing the complexity of his themes. Janusz’s work probes the influence of nature on human physiological changes, and his recent exhibitions have addressed themes such as botany and anatomy through his hybrid sculptures and use of complex materials. In its exploration of how humans, nature, and the environment interact with each other, the artist’s practice embodies the notion of multiple belongings, in which individual identity is formed and reconstructed in multiple social and cultural environments, rather than a single context. His use of natural materials and unconventional media to depict the human body and its biological processes offers a complex view of how humans interact with and affect their environment.
